Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct diagnostic medical sonographic exams including cardiac, general and vascular ultrasounds.
Prepare and maintain sonographic equipment
Produce high-quality images for interpretation by physicians
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers
Follow established protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
Sonographer Qualifications & Skills
Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Experience in multiple ultrasound specialties
Strong technical skills with ultrasound equipment
Excellent communication skills
Empathy and strong patient care abilities
Ability to work independently
Continuing education in the field of diagnostic medical sonography
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
Valid certification and licensure as required by state
Proficiency with ultrasound technology and imaging techniques
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
Basic life support (BLS) certification
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow precise protocols
Good physical stamina for handling equipment and assisting patients
