  • Responsibilities

    OUR FORENSIC DEPARTMENT AT SOUND provides mental health and case management services to individuals with involvement in the criminal justice system. The Forensics Clinician uses case management and trauma-informed care to assist clients in getting basic needs met, meeting their goals and becoming as healthy and engaged as possible in the community. The population served includes people diagnosed with chronic mental illness as well as co-occurring substance use and mental health symptoms; many are homeless or insecurely housed. The position offers the opportunity to provide outreach and office-based services and well as regular interaction with probation and courts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about new challenges every day. We are looking for someone who has excellent creative problem solving and communication skills, a positive outlook and enthusiasm for celebrating the achievement of small goals.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice or related field and/or
    • CDP/T
    • Previous experience with community mental health or the criminal justice system is preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

    • Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises

    • Patience and a sense of humor

    • Comfort working with those with significant mental health and substance use issues

    • Representing Sound in a professional manner to outside agencies

    • Willingness to work with courts probation, police and hospitals to best serve our clients

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION

    • Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency AFfiliaed Counselor Credential (AAC) within the first 60 days of hire
    • Washington State Driver's License and insurable driving record
