About Us: The Crossroads: Guitars and Art is an arts experience store located in Gilbertsville, PA. Our state-of-the-art facility functions as an art gallery, musical instrument and accessories store, workshop space, performance venue, and music school. We are committed to providing top-notch music education and fostering a creative and collaborative environment for our students and patrons. Position Overview: Our luthier services are performed on acoustic and electric guitars and other stringed instruments such as violins, violas, mandolins, and banjos for restrings, setups, and more intensive repair work. We are looking for an experienced luthier to handle service and repair on the wide variety of instruments that are brought in. Responsibilities: -Perform service and repair on instruments dropped off by our customers. We see everything from vintage Martins to Squiers and everything in between. -Set your own schedule: our recommendation is one weekday and one weekend shift during business hours, 11am-7pm Mon-Fri, 9:30am-4pm Saturday. -Communication with the team and, when necessary, with customers. -Careful documentation of work done. -Maintain a neat and organized workspace. Qualifications: -Previous luthier work experience required. -Please provide your own luthier tools. We can provide strings, hardware, and cleaning materials. -Competence with all aspects of guitars and basses is a must. Bluegrass and orchestral instrument experience appreciated, but not required. -Excellent communication skills and professionalism in talking to customers about their instrument and their service and repair options. -Reliable, punctual, and organized.
