A growing company has an immediate opening for a Controller.  The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the accounting operations, including managing staff, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, maintenance of an adequate system for accounting records, development of internal control policies and procedures as well as ensuring company complies with general acceptable accounting principles. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all accounting operations including but not limited to Billing, Accounts Receivable, Account Payable, and Financial Reporting.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Oversee month-end process including preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
• Reviews payroll preprocessing reports and assists with analyzing benefit charges.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Manage cash flow reporting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Accounting Bachelor’s Degree or Business Administration required
• Ten years or more of related experience required
• Experience with Construction Accounting preferred
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant a plus
