    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced full-time Sous Chef to join our opening leadership team in Nantucket.

    This role is ideal for a focused, committed culinary professional who takes initiative, leads by example, and thrives in a collaborative kitchen environment. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the kitchen culture, support menu execution, and deliver consistently high-quality food for our guests.

    What You’ll Do

    As Sous Chef, you will support daily kitchen operations and lead the team alongside ownership and senior leadership. Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting menu execution and food quality standards

    • Leading and motivating a team of approximately 5–10 employees

    • Ordering, receiving, and managing inventory

    • Training and educating staff on systems, standards, and recipes

    • Supporting food safety and sanitation compliance

    • Following written recipes and instructions consistently

    • Assisting with menu development and execution

    • Working efficiently in a standing position during service

    • Maintaining composure and leadership presence during busy service

    What We’re Looking For

    Experience & Skills

    • 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience in an upscale casual restaurant

    • Experience managing staff training, scheduling, and motivation

    • Strong understanding of inventory, ordering, and receiving

    • Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)

    • Ability to execute written recipes and systems consistently

    • Experience contributing to menu creation a plus
