The Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center—Southside Virginia’s premier destination for weddings, dining, and conferences—is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
At Berry Hill, we pride ourselves on creating memorable dining experiences across our restaurants, private events, and The Library Bar. As Sous Chef, you will partner closely with the Executive Chef to bring creativity, consistency, and excellence to every plate served.
What You’ll Do
Support daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards in food quality, presentation, and consistency
Lead and mentor kitchen staff, setting the tone for professionalism and teamwork
Oversee food preparation and service across restaurant and banquet operations
Ensure all dishes are prepared, cooked, and plated to Berry Hill standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen in compliance with health regulations
Collaborate with the Banquet Manager to execute events seamlessly and exceed guest expectations
Step into any station as needed to support service and ensure readiness for each shift

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Culinary degree or formal training preferred
Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or resort setting strongly preferred
