Job Summary: At Goodstone, we’re dedicated to excellence and teamwork. As Sous Chef, you’ll lead the Bistro and Special Events, oversee food preparation, supervise staff, and support menu planning, inventory, and supply management. You’ll also ensure safety and sanitation standards are met, manage scheduling, and provide coaching. This role requires composure under pressure and strong leadership during service.

As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth daily operation of the restaurant and banquet culinary services. This role blends creativity, leadership, and operational excellence in a fine-dining, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate on menu planning and recipe development to meet Goodstone’s quality standards.
Oversee food preparation, production, and presentation for à la carte and banquet service.
Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff to maintain high performance and morale.
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Monitor kitchen equipment for cleanliness and functionality.
Manage inventory, food cost control, and efficient kitchen operations.
Lead kitchen operations in the Executive Chef’s absence.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfaction.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience
Minimum two years of culinary management experience in a similar fine dining/upscale restaurant with similar duties and responsibilities
Strong leadership qualities
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety procedures
Support a culture of enthusiasm, teamwork, and superior service among all departments
Food Safety Manager Certificate is a plus
Supervisory Responsibility: The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, guiding the culinary team, and ensuring high food quality, sanitation, and cost control standards. They assist with training, staffing, and enforcing company policies, while fostering a collaborative, service-driven team culture.
