    Location: Nokomis House, Minneapolis, MN

    Type: Full-Time

    Job Summary:

    The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and leadership team to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain quality and consistency, and help develop menu items that align with our vision. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is excited about building something from the ground up.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assist in managing all kitchen operations, including prep, service, and staffing

    Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation

    Support menu development, including seasonal and monthly specials

    Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to ensure strong performance and morale

    Enforce food safety and sanitation standards

    Help manage inventory, ordering, and cost control

    Qualifications:

    Experience: 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in a high-volume kitchen

    Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail. Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required

    Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and work in a hot, humid environment.

    Team Player: Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from kitchen supervisors.

    Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    Benefits and Compensation:

    Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually

    120 hours of PTO per year

    401(k) with 5% employer match
