Job Summary - We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensure consistent food quality, and lead and mentor kitchen staff. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep love for the culinary arts.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff
Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Oversee inventory, manage stock rotation, and ensure efficient use of ingredients
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and new hires
Collaborate on menu planning, development, and seasonal specials
Monitor food costs and help manage kitchen budgets
Step in for the Executive Chef during absences
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a professional kitchen
Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and cuisines
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
