    Sous Chef Job Description

    Moro’s Kitchen is seeking a passionate and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a scratch kitchen environment, takes pride in craftsmanship, and works well under pressure during busy services.

    Responsibilities

    Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations

    Lead and support kitchen staff during prep and service

    Execute and maintain consistency across all menu items

    Follow recipes and preparation standards with precision

    Prepare scratch-made sauces, stocks, and pasta

    Assist with fish and meat butchery

    Help with inventory, and food cost control

    Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards

    Contribute to daily and seasonal specials

    Qualifications

    Previous sous chef or strong line cook experience preferred

    Experience in a scratch cooking environment

    Ability to follow recipes and plating standards consistently

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen

    Knowledge of fresh pasta production, fish fabrication, and meat butchery preferred

    Strong work ethic, communication, and leadership skills

    Availability nights and weekends
