    Westbound & Down Brewing Company is seeking a driven, organized, hospitality-minded Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen in Idaho Springs.

    Position Overview

    The Sous Chef works directly with the General Manager, Culinary Director, and kitchen leadership team to execute daily operations with consistency and excellence.

    You will lead shifts, develop team members, protect food quality, and ensure systems are followed. This is a hands-on leadership position.

    Responsibilities

    Lead and manage kitchen shifts with professionalism and urgency

    Maintain food quality, consistency, and plating standards

    Manage prep systems and pars to protect food cost

    Assist in scheduling and labor management

    Hold the line on cleanliness, organization, and food safety

    Support inventory and ordering processes

    Train and develop line cooks and prep cooks

    Enforce systems that protect our prime cost targets

    Contribute to menu development and seasonal features

    What We’re Looking For

    2+ years of kitchen leadership experience

    Strong understanding of food cost and labor control

    Ability to lead calmly during high-volume service

    Strong communication and coaching skills

    High standards for cleanliness and organization

    Passion for hospitality, not just cooking

    Pride in being part of a team
