Job Description
OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, the primary responsibility of the Claims Center Support Specialist is maintaining order, safety and providing customer service to all visitors of South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) Claims Center. Additionally, this position will provide assistant to the Claims Center Staff by reviewing player claims information, disbursing prize checks, performing clerical duties, and working with the public. This position is at-will and will not be covered by the South Carolina State Employee Grievance Procedure Act.
RESPONSIBILITIS:
- Maintains order and directs players on protocols established for visiting the SCEL Claims Center. Ensures compliance with occupancy restrictions.
- Provides customer service and assistance to ensure all documentation is in order to proceed with the Lottery Claims process.
- Assists players with Claim Form instructions and provides photocopies of proper identification documents.
- Routinely cleans and disinfects high-touch surfaces.
- Takes daily inventory of items needed to serve players, such as Claim Forms, Pens, Cleaning Supplies, Face Masks, and any other supplies necessary. Communicates supply needs to Claims Center Management.
- Assists with coordinating administrative and/or support activities for the Claims Center Office, to include opening, validating, logging and processing incoming mail.
- Assists with the disbursement of prizes; both in-person and via US Mail.
- Performs any other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalency, with 1 – 3 years of related work experience.
