Summary: This is a part-time Transit Driver position responsible for providing quality transportation service for South Central Council of Governments Transit Program clients in the Walsenburg, Trinidad, and Pueblo areas. The part-time Transit Driver is responsible for providing coverage during peak hours, vacations, and sick days. Position may also involve dispatching, billing and deposits.

Supervisors: Immediate Supervisor is the Transit Operations Supervisor, who reports to the Transit Director and Executive Director. 

Work Schedule: Shift work as needed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Pay rate:  $12.50 - $15.00 per hour depending on the route.

SCCOG Transit Mission Statement: SCCOG Transit’s Mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost-effective, and accessible transportation to all residents of Huerfano and Las Animas counties, with special attention to individuals who cannot access or afford other transportation alternatives.  

Minimum Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License. No major driving violations on driving record. Must possess a thorough knowledge of Colorado traffic laws. Must possess skills and ability to drive under inclement weather conditions. Must be willing and able to pass a background and Motor Vehicle record check.  Must pass a drug and alcohol pre-employment test and random drug and alcohol exams as required by the Federal Transit Administration. Must be able to understand and operate smartphone technology.  Must possess ability to organize and prepare reports, report logs and other paperwork necessary to perform in assigned position. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must possess good interpersonal skills and get along well with people.
