Job Purpose: The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for assisting in identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue purchase orders within a timely manner
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Perform required Item Maintenance within system
Assist with purchase order invoices and contracts for conformance to company policy
Schedule inbound deliveries for each department
Maintain supplier relationships
Ability to work well and communicate with members of various departments
Identify opportunities for improvement
Complete special projects and assignments as requested
Other responsibilities as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency required
2-3 years of Planning/Purchasing experience
Strong knowledge of planning methods and planning processes (Forecast, ROP, Min/Max, etc….)
Excellent time and priority abilities required
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and in-house software
Basic mathematical abilities is required
APICS certification a plus
