Web Specialist (Full Time)
Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB (What are the end results or objectives of this position? Why does the job exist?)
This job exists to conceive, develop, and manage web page and assets for the institution and find solutions to help the seminary in promotions, marketing, advertising and digital materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What duties are required for the position to exist?)
Responsible for translating content and ideas of the institution into web assets while implementing best practices
Work with other members of Marketing and Communications team in conception and design of visual elements for seminary sites
Managing the various existing assets and ensuring that information is current and consistent across all platforms and published web assets
Assisting other various offices with web development needs and maintaining the main website under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications and in accordance with established branding and style guidelines
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Responsibilities/important duties performed occasionally or in addition to the essential duties of the position.)
Assist with graphic design and social media projects as needed
As approved by the director, the web specialist may be asked to travel to various locations or take meetings to better understand projects and assist in the development and realization of marketing strategies
Along with director chart strategic plan for conception and execution of department’s goal and objectives, including new media and digital potentiality
Assist director and associate director as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (Provide the number and type of employees supervised, level of authority to hire and fire or to make recommendations.)
• Work with outside vendors and manage relationships as required by the position

Ability to work with Content Management Systems and Web Design platforms including, but not limited, to WordPress, Squarespace, and Cascade
Comfortable working with front end technologies and writing and editing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and have the ability to find answers or understand knowledge base documentation when required
Ability to work with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and understand how to use digital asset management tools
Able to design, implement, test, and reiterate various versions of websites and products
6. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY (Budgeting responsibilities, approval privileges on purchase orders and check requests, reporting and auditing functions.)

EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT (Within and outside the University)
Within the seminary: The web specialist can expect to have regular contact with other members of the institution. Though this will not necessarily be a large part of the position, the web specialist will collaborate and work on events and other projects with departments within the institution.
Outside the seminary: The web specialist will not have regular contact with those outside of the seminary. There may be some contact when the needs of a project require contact with outside members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Walking, lifting, equipment, operation, etc.)
• Physical demands will be limited in this position, but may include assisting other members of the team or the director with various projects
The web specialist will have regular hours, but may be required to work overtime if a large project is due or if the institutional needs require
The web specialist will mostly work in the office unless allowed to work remotely
SALARY: $25-30K; SALARY DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE
