The school janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the schools campus by cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining rooms, common areas and surrounding school grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleanup of all areas of the building as directed (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, waxing, etc.).
• Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs.
• Stock and maintain cleaning supplies and janitorial storage spaces.
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
• Follow all health and safety regulations

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of janitorial experience.
• High school degree.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Capacity to take direction.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Schedule

This position is scheduled for 30 hours/week form 7:30am to 2pm (30 minute lunch), Mondays - Fridays.
