General Description: Contract Position. To provide after-hours assistance to victims of sexual assault and child abuse through crisis intervention via the crisis line and accompaniment to forensic medical exams at the Hampton, Newnan, or Jonesboro office. Specific Duties: Provides crisis intervention to victims via the crisis line and during forensic medical exams. Must be available to respond in person to the Jonesboro, Newnan, or Hampton office anytime during the agreed upon shift. Acts as a liaison between the victim, law enforcement and medical personnel in an effort to provide a continuum of care. Provides information to victims regarding community resources. Completes and submits reports as required. Minimum Qualifications: Local applicants only. (Must live within 30 minutes of the Hampton or Newnan office) Ability to empathize and communicate with all types of people. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Commitment to the need for client and agency confidentiality. Ability to organize and maintain accurate records. Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Competent knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding sexual assault and child abuse. Background check required. Hours Required: This is a contract position. Nights and weekends. Some opportunity to work daytime and holidays (when office is closed). Night shift: M-Th, 6pm-6am. Weekend shift: Friday, 6pm-Monday, 6am. Benefits: None
