    Southern Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Clinic, P.C. is hiring a full time Radiology Technician.


    POSITION SUMMARY: The radiology technologist will interpret physician's orders and conduct

    radiologic examinations to help the physician diagnose the patient. 

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

    1. Keeps radiologic and patient exams flowing smoothly to assure all patients are seen in a timely

    manner and the physician's time is well managed.

    1. Greets and escorts patient to the x-ray examination room.

    2. Prepares patient for exam/procedure.

    3. Responsible for patient education.

    4. Promptly responds to any physician request.

    5. Prepares x-ray exam room for the next patient.

    6. Ensures that patient safety is carried out through each x-ray exam.


    EDUCATION: Completion of a university, college or other accepted CAHEA accredited radiology

    technologist program. The applicant must be ARRT, ARMRIT~ or CAMRT registered as a MR

    technologist or ARRT registered or unlimited state license or associate degree or bachelor degree in allied

    health field and certification in another clinical imaging field. Registered Radiology Technologists must

    acquire 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years.

    EXPERIENCE: One year of experience as a radiology technologist in a healthcare setting is highly

    preferred.

    JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to physician(s) and office manager.

    PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of patient preparation, examination, and film processing procedures.

    • Knowledge of radiologic equipment and procedures.

    • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

    • Knowledge of common safety precautions to ensure a safe work environment.

    • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.

    • Utilize time management skills.


    WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a fast paced, well lit, and comfort controlled medical office

    environment. High traffic area in a close environment. Interaction with others may be constant and

    interruptive.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, data entry, answering phone calls, and viewing computer

    screens for long periods of time. Involves substantial amounts of standing and walking. Requires handling

    and moving of patients.
