Job Description

The TRAM DRIVER operates a tractor pulling two open-air passenger tram cars throughout the property along a prescribed route.  Uses expert-level knowledge of the property and surrounding area to provide a fun, informative tour with a focus on guest satisfaction. Engages guests in a friendly and interactive manner, answers guest questions, and completes tours safely and on time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

• Operates a tractor pulling two open-air tram cars in a safe manner at all times
• Operates tractor in designated areas and follows prescribed tour routes
• Greets all tour guests promptly at scheduled tour times
• Maintains a friendly, engaging and enthusiastic demeanor
• Provides information to guests clearly and articulately
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of our property, facilities, and related topics.  Uses this knowledge to satisfactorily respond to any guest questions
• Keeps tours on time while also being considerate to guests
• Assists customers on and off the tram cars.
• Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs and policies.
• Works extra shifts and hours as required.
• Assists in other positions and departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
• A valid Driver’s License is Required.
• Ability to operate a tractor in a safe manner
• Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Ability to acquire and recite expert-level knowledge of the property, facilities, and surrounding area
• Passion for learning and willingness to continue to acquire relevant knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Must be able to understand normal conversation and accurately communicate information.
• Ability to speak clearly and loud enough to be heard by a group of people indoors for long periods of time
• Ability to stand and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
• Ability to remain balanced; stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp, and reach down, forward and overhead repetitively.
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Manual dexterity to grasp and handle cash, coins, paper, phones, etc.
• The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: Adverse conditions may include extreme heat and/or cold, wind, humidity and sometimes inclement weather.
• Ability to assist passengers on and off vehicles

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or previous customer service- related work experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a tour guide is preferred
• Public speaking experience is preferred
