    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    As the Business Development Manager of Asset Management, you are responsible for creating a business plan that drives new sales opportunities while supporting Southland Energy’s strategic business goals.   In this role you will capitalize on industry trends, develop key industry relationships, and closely coordinate with Account Executives to achieve growth and sales goals

     

    Some key accountabilities you will have as the Business Development Manager of Asset Management include…

    • Set strategic direction for market segment or vertical market
    • Gather market intelligence and outline specific strategies necessary to drive growth and capitalize on business opportunities
    • Prioritize opportunities to meet strategic objectives and financial goals
    • Identify key client and partner relationships necessary to effectively drive strategies
    • Partner with Account executives to deploy strategies and support specific opportunities
    • Track and report on business results and trends
    • Work as part of a cross-functional project development team to secure new business and ensure customer satisfaction, as well as participate in customer meetings and contract negotiations.
    • Manages a revenue goal which usually includes developing, maintaining and expanding relationships with all levels in an account. Additionally, schedule appointments and meetings with customers in order to review and define program opportunities and desired success parameters and to qualify the opportunity.
    • Attend critical networking and trade show events to obtain leads and expand knowledge of critical issues facing our customer base
    • Participate in speaking engagements and author white papers

     

    THINGS YOU MAY HAVE DONE BEFORE

    • Have a Bachelor's Degree; preferably a Master’s Degree
    • Have a minimum of 10 years of consultative Business Development or experience
    • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience working in Energy Infrastructure Asset Management in the ESCO space
    • Experience in a quota-driven sales environment, exceeding sales production targets
    • Experience working with public sector or governmental agencies
    • Experience working with or for engineering, architectural, and/or design-build firms
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to effectively conduct presentations for groups/in public forums, such as City Council or School Board meetings
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Proficient in knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
    • Interest in sustainability strategies, energy efficiency, and renewable energy and passion to serve others and make a difference
    • Demonstrated financial and business acumen
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
