POSITION SUMMARY

How would you like to be part of building Garden Grove, CA?  With Envise, you'll be able to see our projects come to life!

As a Precon/Project Estimator at Envise, you will pro-actively engage new and existing customers, from all industries, with face to face meetings, and you will develop consultative business relationships with end-users, building property/facility managers and general contractors to better understand their needs and to develop a winning sales strategy.  This role reports to the Branch Sales Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY:

You will work with the sales team to build and deliver estimates for multiple mechanical HVAC Building and Automation projects in the $50k to $1M range in the Southern California region. This will include new construction and renovations of existing commercial developments.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Responsible for managing efficient pre-construction costs by vetting project feasibility and selecting vendors and subcontractors for the team
• Create complete and detailed pre-construction estimates and project turn over packages which include project scope of work, job schedules, project risks, and site specific safety requirements 
• Work with engineering, sales staff, field technicians, and end users to develop estimates and project plans to be delivered to the customer
• Participate in job site pre construction walk-throughs, obtaining bids and selecting reliable subcontractors to provide special construction, or other services
• Handle day-to-day duties of this role including printing, reviewing, and understanding project drawings, job specs, and submittals; managing and maintaining an ongoing list of project status for potential jobs; and providing updates and feedback to the operations department and management

WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL:

• Associate’s Degree with an emphasis in MEP technical project management, general contracting, electrical contracting project management or mechanical/industrial engineering, construction management, controls engineering required, but four-year bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5 + years of experience working in the construction industry
• 1-3 years of creating pre-construction estimation documentation is preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC and building automation systems as applied to new construction and retrofit projects
• Awareness of general safety and practices on construction sites
• The ability to provide critical thinking to problem solve and resolve engineering and constructability conflicts
• Clear understanding of Revenue, Gross Margin and Operating Income
• Excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook) applications
