PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repair and maintenance of all existing electrical fixtures, equipment, conduits, and raceways in a given area, e.g. dirt tracks, turf tracks, backside, landscape, grandstand interior/exterior, storage, parking, work repair area, KOA Park, RV Park, Barrett’s Arena, Administration Buildings, CDC, and all Expo Buildings • Check all buildings before and after events for needed items and damage to the Fair’s system • Ensure continuity of power and signal to all fixtures and equipment, including elevators, escalators, HVAC, refrigeration, video totalizator, computer equipment and closed circuit television distribution systems • Maintain starting gate electrical systems • Maintain track-timing system • Maintain fire/life safety system • Perform electrical services for all grandstand events, such as Inter-Track Wagering, concerts, infield events, etc. • Hook up of generators and transformers • Replacement of light bulbs and fluorescent tubes • Place and pull power pedestals on grounds for events • Install extra power where not available by other means • Pull computer cable • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
• Must be able to operate a snorkel, scissor lift, Hyster, etc. around the public and other employees • Must be knowledgeable of Electrical Codes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
• Must be a member of Electrical Workers, Local 11 • Must possess a valid California Driver License and have a clean driving record • Must be able to work with minimal supervision • Ability to move around the grounds • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and place at same or different levels • Must be physically capable of walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling • Must be able to climb stairs • Must be able to use hand-held two-way radio • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, day and night shifts • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, such as heat, rain, and cold • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
