    WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

    As the Project Engineer II (PE II) you will have the primary responsibility to perform design build energy engineering duties for complex mechanical and EMS systems at large federal, commercial, and institutional facilities.  This includes participating in the design of all measures included in Energy based construction projects as well as providing constructability reviews and QA/QC of field installation work on of a wide variety of energy of conservation measures. 

     

    Some key accountabilities you will have as the Project Engineer II include… 

    • Collaborate with management and stakeholders and keep them informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget 
    • Manage change orders, ensuring they are completed accurately and tracked as required, expedite material as needed, and estimate the impact of project changes 
    • Provide interpretation of plans and specifications 
    • Assemble complete submittal packages and other required project documentation information 
    • Procure equipment and materials and services; and participate in selection and hiring of subcontractors 
    • Analyze and resolve more complex questions and problems as needed

     

     

    THINGS YOU MAY HAVE DONE BEFORE 

    Have a Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience 

    Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the project management field

    Have an in-depth knowledge of applicable design and installation of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and EMCS

    • This may equate to 5 years of experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and EMCS
    • For the experience required by the role you will need to have knowledge for all of the areas noted above, not just a single area

    Ability to read mechanical electrical, EMCS and plumbing plans 

    Ability to understand and/or write detailed sequences of operation for mechanical systems 

    Ability to analyze EMCS trends to confirm proper system operation 

    Strong verbal and written communication skills 

    Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel

    TRAVEL:

    As the Project Engineer your travel will be very project dependent and can often be very cyclical with heavier travel at the beginning and end of the project.  Depending on the project stage, travel may be 30 – 40%.

     

    TERRITORY:

    As the Project Engineer your project territory will be the Southeast region of the US- potentially Texas to the Carolinas and areas South of Virginia.
