    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Operation Technology (BOT) team in the Information Technology (IT) department.  In this role, you will work primarily in our COINS ERP+ application.  You will interact with the Corporate Finance, Division Accounting, and Division Project Operations teams.  Your day-to-day work will be in supporting the overall business needs regarding financial and project operations, including general accounting and construction project accounting.  You will work directly with our users to analyze their business needs and collaborate with other IT functions to support, design, build and implement technology solutions to solve their business challenges.

     

    The ideal candidate is a detailed planner, effective communicator, and experienced business analyst.  You need to have a working knowledge of general accounting and finance and a strong expertise in construction accounting or related specialties.   You should be energetic and committed to the discovery and development of innovative solutions in a fast paced quickly evolving business process environment.

     

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

     

    You will report to the Director of Business Operations Technology.  In this role, you will work in a very collaborative environment with other members in the BOT team.  You will work primarily with data and processes to support our accounting, finance, construction job/project management business units. 

    You will have two areas of responsibility:

     

    Business Support

    You will support our users with their business process and our COINS ERP+ application.  You are expected to understand the construction job management accounting process and data.  You will use your analytical skills to dissect their business needs/problems/challenges and apply sound technical/process solution to solve their issues.  Specifically, you will:

     

    • Support the business users and answer their support tickets. You will guide, coach, teach our users based on your business and system knowledge.
    • Work with the vendor to ensure that software bugs are fixed and implemented.
    • Review and test vendor supplied fixes.

     

    Project Support

    You will work with other BOT team members and the IT department to analyze and implement solutions to further the business objectives.  Specifically, you will:

     

    • Participate in the project team. Support the Program Manager and the Project Manager in capturing, documenting user requirements
    • Lead small projects/initiatives to improve internal processes

     

     

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

     

    • Excellent organization skills with high level of attention to detail.
    • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent Excel and data manipulation skills.
    • Strong analytical mindset/skill.
    • Strong expertise in construction project accounting process and job cost accounting functions. Previous accounting experience with specialty contractor teams, and lump sum, GMP and IPD contracts strongly preferred.
    • Good working knowledge of general finance and accounting concepts (AP, AR, GL, etc.)
    • Good working knowledge of data analysis. Relational database knowledge is a plus.
    • General understanding if IT organizations and IT processes.

     

     

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

     

    • 3-5 years of experience in the area of construction operations and/or accounting for a mid-large company is required.
    • Experience with COINS ERP systems is ideal.
    • Great written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Excellence customer service skills are required.
    • Previous business analyst, data analyst, process analyst experience is highly preferred.
