    WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

     

    As the Federal Business Segment Leader, you are responsible for creating a business plan that drives new sales opportunities while supporting Southland Energy’s strategic business goals.   In this role you will capitalize on industry trends, develop key industry relationships, and manage the sales team to achieve sales goals.  This includes being accountable for implementing strategic sales objectives, driving top-line growth, meeting sales and goals, and building Southland Energy's brand within the Federal business segment.

     

     

    Some key accountabilities you will have as the Federal Business Segment Leader…

     

    • Provide vision and develops strategies to grow the Federal market segment
    • Create an actionable business plan for the Federal business segment that outlines sales focus (geographic, vertical market, etc.), critical marketing support and appropriate organizational structure to achieve business goals and expectations.
    • Manage sales activities to ensure that strong customer relationships are established and maintained
    • Manage sales team and dedicated business development resources to achieve business objectives. Promotes team selling and expansion of existing relationships into additional new sales.
    • Recruit and retain top business development and sales talent
    • Support sales teams in business development and direct sales opportunities.
    • Manage sales funnel using CRM and other tools
    • Track key business development and sales metrics and reports to leadership team
    • Represent Southland Energy as a leader in the industry/market.
    • Target key projects and key accounts and develops and implements sales strategies to ensure successful sales.
    • Manage and assess sales teams’ performance; provide coaching and training to develop skills with each team member.

     

     

    THINGS YOU MAY HAVE DONE BEFORE 

     

    • 12+ years of experience in the Federal Energy space with proven track record of selling large and complex design build energy and infrastructure projects, including 7+ years’ people management.
    • Extensive knowledge of procurement and decision dynamics within multiple major Federal agencies or departments.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent leadership skills.
    • Ability to set clear performance expectations, monitor performance, provide timely and meaningful coaching and constructive feedback to direct reports.
    • Highly effective at achieving goals through others by prioritizing, delegating tasks to appropriate staff and ensuring individual and team accountability.
    • High level of business acumen and ability to support solutions that benefit the client’s business
    • Solid relationships within Federal agencies or departments
    • Highly effective at prioritizing, managing deadlines, and adhering to project schedules.
    • Sound product knowledge and understanding of technical regulations, standards and compliance requirements related to products.
    • Ability to accomplish goals through collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process improvement skills.
    • Ability to negotiate and sell relevant services that benefit Southland Energy and the client.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Engineering, Business or another applicable field.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
