    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing all phases of the construction job costing process by categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with construction projects. Ideal candidate must be able to commute 3 DAYS A WEEK TO THE JOB SITE LOCATED IN HIGHLAND, CA and the remainder of the week to the Garden Grove office.

     

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

     

    • Cost-Plus billing & T&M experience
    • Compliance: Insurance and Sub-contract review experience 
    • Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements.; Perform financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget
    • Monitor accounts receivables and cash receipts. Resolve outstanding payment issues with GC
    • Process project accounts payable and subcontracts payable
    • Manage Vendor compliance – insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9’s.
    • Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports
    • Assist in the preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINS

     

     

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred with major in accounting, finance, business or related fields of study. 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
    • 2-5 years of construction project accounting experience is a plus.
    • Able to analyze and resolve complex issues.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
    • Proficient in using advanced accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
    • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize work.
    • Ability to maintain strong client relations and provide good customer service.
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints in an interrupt driven environment.
    • Must have experience both creating reports and compiling and analyzing data
