    Southland is looking for an experienced and thoughtful Talent Management Business Partner with strong expertise and passion in furthering industry diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts s to join our People team. You are an experienced strategic people (HR) operations and talent management practitioner who has implemented and led people and talent management programs at the business-line level.  These programs may include, employee engagement, talent acquisition and workforce planning, early career programs, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) programs, EEO/OFCCP compliance program management, hi-potential talent identification and development programs, succession management, and diversity recruiting programs. 

     

     

    POSITION SUMMARY

     

     

    The Talent Management Business Partner will work with Recruiting, HR Business Partners (HRBP), Corporate Marketing, and Learning & Development to integrate talent management programs focused on our People First model in all people and talent processes and partner with HRBPs to implement our DEIB strategic drivers across all lines of business. This is an exciting time to join Southland Industries! We are in an amazing stage of growth and you will be essential to help increase our workforce diversity and focus on inclusive People First talent management programs. This position report directly to the Director of Talent Management.  This position has the potential to work primarily in a remote setting.

     

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

      

    • Program/project management for the integration of our DEIB strategy into existing talent management, hiring, retention, and development processes
    • Provide expertise, coaching, and consulting to grow peer DEIB skill development and workplace inclusiveness
    • Collaborate with the HRBP team to implement targeted approaches. Use the collective team strengths, and diversity of thought to create a strategic impact
    • In partnership with marketing evolve external diversity branding, outreach efforts, strategies, and programs
    • Collaborate across all levels inclusive of individual contributors, people managers, senior leaders, and executives
    • Partner with and act as DEIB lead for the creation of content for DEIB education, roadmap, and cadence of delivery.
    • Partner with Learning & Development, Marketing, and key stakeholders and messaging to help improve internal DEIB understanding and awareness
    • Track and utilize DEIB metrics that matter to provide insights to inform how and what we implement. Partner with line of business clients and HRBP team to provide key learnings and plan formulation.
    • Participate in ERG leadership and teamwork efforts and make connections to other DEIB initiatives
    • Create and project manage workstreams for each ERG as they emerge to add to the DEIB support from the ground-up concept.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and College Recruiting Leads to co-create new candidate sourcing and selection strategies while improving the candidate experience measured through quantitative/qualitative metrics
    • Collaborate with the Director of Talent Management and local HRBPs to provide DEIB counsel and support to Southland locations with the uniqueness of culture and advocating “belonging” activities and actions to connect with the larger organization.
    • Travel locally and/or domestically as needed

      

     

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

      

    • Project Management, ability to interpret data, develop and execute plans
    • You are an accomplished facilitator, with coaching, and consulting skills
    • Preferred skills in organizational development or organizational effectiveness and knowledge of workforce strategy concepts
    • Knowledge of essential People Operations (HR) team, Talent Management processes, and EEO/OFCCP compliance policies
    • Be a highly skilled collaborator with key stakeholders to drive forward the needs of the business by partnering with senior leadership and HRBPs to address talent gaps and needs
    • Experience in a matrixed organization; preferably an Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) firm
    • Learning agility to understand the business and changing business needs
    • A bias towards execution and driving results
    • A relationship-oriented approach to program management
    • Consultative and strategic critical thinking skills

     

     

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

     

    • Minimum of 7+ years of HRBP experience and
    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience implementing DEIB talent development, recruitment strategies, and talent management planning.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or other related field of study
