    Job Description

     The Payroll Associate will perform basic office administrative tasks and duties related to payroll as well as general office duties such as drafting correspondence, filing, answering phone/emails, and creating reports. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         Compile and record employee time and payroll data such as garnishments, PTO, insurance, and deductions.

    ·         Compute employees' time worked, post wages and deductions, prepare paychecks, and resolve pay-related issues experienced before and after the check issuance.

    ·         Process weekly/bi-weekly transfer of payroll data to the payroll system (Paylocity).

    ·         Retrieve electronic data from POS systems and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.

    ·         Contact various department supervisors for any missed times or discrepancies.

    ·         Reconcile payroll and manual checks.

    ·         Prepare bank deposits and manage uncashed checks.

    ·         Ensure New Hire information is uploaded into Paylocity prior to Payroll run.

    ·        Process employment verification and issue annual W-2 forms to employees.

    ·        Create and distribute reports for compensation, taxes paid, garnishments, and deductions.

    ·        Update employee payroll records as needed.

    ·         Maintain payroll issues log to track open items for each week.

    ·         Scan and file supporting payroll/HR paperwork.

    ·         Answer office and payroll/HR phones.

    ·         Review and reconcile general ledger accounts relating to the payroll function.

    ·         Provide assistance and support to the company personnel.

     POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

     PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    ·         Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         1-3 years of payroll processing experience is a plus.

    ·         Well versed in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

    ·         Previous experience in Paylocity is a plus
