    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for day-to-day employee benefits and leave program administration, as well as other Human Resource Generalist duties as needed. This position is also responsible for managing the Human Resource Information System to ensure data accuracy; analyzes and provides reports.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Administer various employee benefit programs for all active and terminated employees such as group health, dental, prescription, HSA, life insurance, ADD, and vision.

    • Oversee and administer ACA and open enrollment. Work directly with benefit providers and our brokers, as necessary.

    • Monitor flexible spending and health savings account programs to include basic administration and posting of payments.

    • Responsible for managing COBRA, Workers Comp, customer injury, Short Term Disability and FMLA claims in coordination with applicable vendors.

    • Compiles leave of absence requests and maintain all associated documentation to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.

    • Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.

    • Work effectively to ensure plans run smoothly. Investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.

    • Verifies the calculation of monthly premiums statements for group insurance policies for medical, prescription, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, stop loss and benefit consulting and maintains statistical data relative to the premiums.

    • Reviews and updates manuals for open enrollment communication materials also facilitating open enrollment meetings.

    • Work with VP, Human Resources and Chief People Officer to develop and implement personnel policies and procedures; update and maintain employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.

    • Work with the VP, Human Resources to research and respond to general employee and manager inquiries related to benefits, policies, and other HR related topics.

    • Manage employee evaluation program.

    • Manage the development and implementation of HRIS initiatives in conjunction with Payroll and IS personnel. Identify opportunities for technology utilization and enhancements to facilitate the availability of human resource information, ensure record-keeping accuracy, and satisfy compliance requirements.

    • Prepare and provide recurring reports for management and administration.

    • Maintain HR records (new hire, personnel, FMLA, worker’s compensation, etc.) according to federal regulations and procedures.

    • Ensure accuracy of HRIS database by entering information timely and accurately.

    • Develop reports and metrics for management, as requested.

    • Responsible for any compliance related reporting as applicable.

    • Prepares and participates in required audits.

    • Interact and communicate with Senior Leadership.

    • Assists with mergers and acquisitions as needed.

    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

    • Professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.

    • Must be organized, detail-oriented and accurate.

    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

    • Excellent time management skills to the ability to meet deadlines.

    • Strong problem-solving skills needed.

    • Experience working with a multi-state company preferred.

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    · Bachelor’s degree with a minimum three years of HR Generalist and benefits administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    · Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills are required for this service and administrative position.

    · Ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment.

    · Exercises discretion and good judgment always.

    · Superb computer literacy with capability in email, Office 365, standard business applications and related HR software.

     

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a full-time position. Scheduled days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Days and hours may vary depending on the needs in the field at the time.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 5 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
