    Role Overview

    The Spanish Ministry Assistant provides administrative and ministry support to help advance the mission of the Spanish-speaking ministry of The Cross Church. This position also supports Kids ministry for Spanish-speaking worship services. This role is essential in creating organized, welcoming, and effective experiences for families, children, and volunteers in alignment with The Cross Church mission to “Spread God’s Fame by making disciples of all people”. This position reports to the Spanish Pastor.

    Job Classification

    Part-time Non-Exempt.

    Schedule

    Office Hours

    Monday through Thursday, approximately 20-24 hours

    Ministry Hours

    Wednesday & Sunday, approximately 4-8 hours

    In addition to office hours and Weekend services, this position may also include evening responsibilities and ministry events from time to time.

    Responsibilities and Expectations

    • Support the Spanish ministry team in planning, developing, and executing a dynamic, innovative, and Christ-centered Spanish ministry.

    • Support ministry gatherings including worship services, growth groups, kids and events.

    • Assist in planning and executing special events, and seasonal programs.

    • Assist communication efforts such as emails, announcements, registrations, translations, and digital content.

    • Help recruit, train, equip, schedule, encourage, and appreciate Spanish ministry volunteers.

    • Coordinate logistics such as room setup, supplies, hospitality, and other support services.

    • Maintain accurate records for attendance, volunteers, events, decisions and next steps.

    • Serve as a point of contact for Spanish-speaking families, helping them connect to the church and resources.

    • Contact first-time guests and visitors weekly through phone calls, texts, letters, and/or in-home visits.

    • Ensure a safe, organized and welcoming kids ministry experience for Spanish worship services.

    • Attend a worship service, staff meetings, ministry team meetings and any other meetings required on a weekly basis.

    • Foster a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with staff, volunteers, and church families.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Experience and Critical Skills

    • Agreement with The Cross Church’s faith statement and mission to “Spread His fame by making disciples of all people.”

    • Committed to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.

    • Established pattern of Bible study and prayer.

    • A personal conviction and calling to Spanish-speaking communities.

    • A passion for the next generation and to see children and families grow in their faith.

    • Previous experience in a multi-lingual ministry role at a Baptist church or a comparable denomination preferred.

    • Fluency to preach, read and write in English and Spanish.

    • Highly organized, giving attention to details.

    • Experience with recruiting, motivating, equipping, and scheduling volunteers.

    • Ability to use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

    • Flexibility to serve where needed.

    • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

    • Relational, self-motivated, strong work ethic, dependable, and reliable.

    • Competency in computer/web-based technology with the capacity to learn new applications quickly.

    • The Cross Church membership is expected.

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or able to obtain and maintain appropriate work authorization for the duration of employment.

    • Ability to comply with all federal, state, and local employment eligibility requirements

    • Willingness to complete any additional documentation required for employment verification.

    • Ability to pass background checks consistent with organizational policy and legal requirements.

    • Sufficient good health to discharge duties properly.
