    OVERVIEW:

    The Communications (Comms) Strategy group at Spark Foundry is an inspiring, dynamic and diverse community of experts in media, social, mobile, technology, behaviors, psychology, innovation and creativity.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Manager of Comms Strategy are charged with leading the real-time exploration of human behavior and what drives it, an understanding of client business issues, technology, media, data/research and culture. This understanding is then leveraged strategically to design meaningful, relevant communications strategies.

    The ideal candidate is a creative, curious and adaptive thinker who enjoys learning, taking on unfamiliar challenges, and shaping new strategic approaches -- combined with warmth, a collaborative approach and a ‘can do’ mindset.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify the consumer journey, strategies, consumer insights and audience targeting for business growth using industry standard research, proprietary research, client research, DMP driven insights, analytics insights, creative brand planning insights, etc.
    • Proactively determine where and how in-depth insight about the consumer’s attitude and behavior can help make the client’s marketing more successful
    • Build strong relationships with cross-functional internal and external teams
    • Ensure that strategic thinking is infused into key deliverables eg. initiative presentations, media plans, activations, data & analytics/research
    • Collaborate with creative agencies to ensure that media and creative insights are synergistic and that the big ideas you both develop can come to life in media
    • Uncover consumer receptivity and the opportunity to change consumer behavior through brand behavior
    • Contextualize the influences that impact consumer engagement 
    • Provide inspiration, innovation and ideas to guide exciting, people-centric brand experiences and inspire partner agencies with our strategies
    • Proactively work with Clients and SPARK team members to drive towards ideas that are strategically powerful, as well as creative, innovative, ownable and measurable
    • Develop ‘Points of View’ based on current client work and key trends surrounding technology, media, and culture that can be shared within agency and with clients
    • Contribute to the team and SPARK thought-leadership and training initiatives, and the development of Junior talent

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3+ YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE. MEDIA PLANNING & COMMS STRAT EXPERIENCE A MUST.
    • Experience related to consumer/market research, exploring human behavior, anthropology/psychology/sociology, or advertising/marketing are welcome.
    • Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success
    • A demonstrative interest & passion for understanding the human condition across diverse audiences
    • Creative and adaptive thinker who enjoys learning, taking on unfamiliar challenges, and shaping new strategic approaches and frameworks
    • Strong and proven strategic skills and the ability to apply them in the development of marketing/communications solutions.
    • Excels in a fast-paced environment, and can manage multiple projects at one time and learn on the fly
    • Ability to be resourceful and work independently
    • Strong understanding of and ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative data
    • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork abilities, entrepreneurial spirit
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, charisma and dynamic presence
    • Makes the complex seem simple by using intelligence, natural intuition, research and data in partnership with colleagues across the agency
    • Operates with warmth, a collaborative approach and a ‘can do’ mindset
