SOFTWARE ENGINEER
We are looking for a software engineer to join the Spark Insights team. As software engineer, you will be designing Spark Insights SaaS product on cloud, deploy or redesign machine learning algorithms developed by data scientists in order to run in large scale and concurrently in the financial services and insurance industries.
Spark Insights is an early-stage stealth mode company based in Boston on a mission to develop a broad range of solutions for the insurance industry using big data, advanced modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key role in Spark Insights engineering team, you will:
- Participate in an agile development process, where collaboration with stakeholders is a vital step to building what is needed.
- Design, build, and deploy microservices that integrate our machine learning models into our product.
- Write automated test suites to ensure the quality of your code.
- Diagnose issues in a distributed system using distributed tracing and observability tools.
- Work closely with data science to ensure successful development and timely delivery of new models and features.
- Ensures adherence to performance standards and compliance to data security requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience writing production-ready Python code that leverages modern software development best practices.
- Experience working on a team of developers, maintaining a shared codebase and having your code reviewed before merging.
- Experience with APIs, as a consumer and a provider.
- Experience using databases and designing schemas (PostgreSQL and/or MySQL preferred.)
- Familiarity running and developing applications in a unix-like environment.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
You must be authorized to work in the US.
