    We are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join the Spark Insights engineering team.  The engineering team here is focused on building and operating data management infrastructure to support Spark Insights SaaS product on cloud for providing services in insurance industries. 

    Spark Insights is an early stage stealth mode company based in Boston on a mission to develop a broad range of solutions for the insurance industry using big data, advanced modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As a DevOps Engineer, you will be in charge of architecting, developing and maintaining the base cloud infrastructure layer needed to run the Spark Insights data management platform and application solutions.  In addition, you will be working with other engineers to develop tools to provide automation and system monitoring capabilities for our continuous delivery pipeline.  As a key role in Spark Insights engineering team, you will:

    • Be an AWS platform expert in the “core” infrastructure areas (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
    • Maintain and refine production environment on AWS.
    • Build and own our CI/CD pipeline to production.
    • Create and maintain a culture of best deployment practices.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to create incident response processes
    • Develop system monitoring capabilities to monitor performance of application and infrastructure.
    • Contribute to our codebase with CloudFormation, Terraform, or potentially other automation and scripting languages

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2+ years' experience cloud-based infrastructure on AWS with technologies: EC2, VPC, S3, ELB, RDS, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.
    • 2+ years' experience with systems-level technologies (Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, etc.)
    • Experience with developing continuous deployment pipelines with tools (e.g., Jenkins), git commands, container platforms (docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.).
    • Relevant languages include bash, python, PowerShell, AWS CLI
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (CSA) certification is a huge bonus
    • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • BS or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)

    You must be authorized to work in the US.
