    SCOPE

    Based out of California (at our Fresno or Ontario office location), this role will report to the Director, Human Resources and be the key People & Culture partner to the Executive Vice-President, USA and the USA leadership team (including Branch Managers and Project Managers).  This role will support the leadership team in promoting a high-performance work environment and positive culture through progressive HR practices at all US locations for the technical services division of Spark Power Corp.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide guidance to Branch Managers in encouraging a culture of high productivity and increased employee morale.
    • Partner with leaders within region to assist and advise on employee relations situations, including full range of Company policies, guidelines, and procedures, along with relevant employment-related laws, regulations and standards.
    • Support two-way communication and engagement with management and employees.
    • Implement proactive programs supporting Managers to promote employee development and growth.
    • Identify trends within the region and/or departments and propose suggestions to address any areas of concern.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment statutes as well as Company HR policies and procedures. Support regionalization of documents as required.
    • Support with core processes such as benefits/pension management, new hire onboarding and coordination of payroll/IT paperwork and processes.
    • Be the regional expert in the use and maintenance of the HRIS. Provided insights and suggestions for improvement based on the needs of the business and employees.
    • Frequent regional travel between branches.

      

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 5+ years of relevant HR work experience is required, preferably in the electrical contracting services industry.
    • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business-related field.
    • SHRM designation will be considered an asset.
    • Ability to travel to various locations within California (up to 30%) and outside of California (up to 30%) as needed.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay organized in a multiple-system environment with high attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated technical ability to manage employment policies and apply human rights standards to HR practices.
    • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-pace environment while taking initiative.
    • Understanding of sensitive workplace issues; ability to act tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
    • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
