Developing conceptual designs in the creation of scope of work, quotations or assisting business units
Creating a standardized approach to the development of parallel engineering packages
Preparing design documents, in phased approach, such as single line diagrams, wire schedules, site plans, floor plans, detail drawings, etc.
Working with utilities to gather requirements, apply for connection and review/understand results of connection studies
Releasing stamped engineering packages in compliance with all applicable Ontario Electrical Safety Code requirements in the areas of low voltage, high voltage, communications, and renewable energy systems a must
Responding to queries or RFIs, from external and internal parties
Working with drafting team to setup drawing lists, project workflow and document review
Coordinating task completion with engineering team based on project schedules
Performing design analysis for underground cable ampacities, ground grid design
Understanding of substation design fundamentals, including component selection, conductor selection and routing, grounding, civil requirements, protection & control
Knowledge of, and frequent use of design process improvement tools such as Excel spreadsheets, calculators
Assisting Drafting team in establishing and maintaining AutoCAD standards, Design Center and detail library
Participating as member of team on larger engineering projects, providing insight in task completion and process development
Self-managing smaller engineering engagements, attending sales meetings as required
Creating cost and hour estimates for engineering services and reviewing actuals on completion
Collaborating with engineers, designers and drafters to engage in and continuously improve department process
Communicating requirements and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders

P.Eng. with ability to stamp electrical packages
5-8 years of electrical engineering experience
Experience in renewable energy projects a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with non-linear pole analysis a plus
Ability to multi-task and self-manage work flow
Completed any internal Safety training
