    SparkCharge is looking for a Fall 2023 Electrical Engineering Co-op/Intern to join our team. At SparkCharge, we have created the world’s first mobile DC fast charger for electric vehicles. We have seen great success with our first product, The Roadie, and that has paved the way towards multiple different product development efforts in order to address all markets/applications for portable EV charging. As an Electrical Engineer Co-op/Intern at SparkCharge, you will join the company at a very exciting time. You will have a chance to get your creative juices flowing, be very hands on, and add many valuable skills to your repertoire.

    Responsibilities

    •       Participate in early-stage product development discussions with the EE and engineering team to drive architectural decisions.

    •       Assist in the specification and sourcing electrical components for prototype development.

    •       Create sub-system and system level wiring diagrams.

    •       Own portions of circuit schematic capture and layout for PCBs of varying complexity.

    •       Participate in PCB design reviews and provide thoughtful feedback.

    •       Assist in acceptance and validation testing of various PCBs using lab equipment.

    •       Assist in debug and root cause analysis efforts of circuitry then document findings.

    •       Populate and repair PCBs using soldering iron tools.

    Requirements

    •       Must be pursuing a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

    •       Strong work ethic, reliability, desire to learn and a passion for the field.

    •       Experience with lab test equipment, power supplies, scopes, and various meters.

    •       Experience using soldering irons to both populate and repair PCBs.

    •       Strong debugging and critical thinking skills.

    •       Fluent understanding of foundational electrical engineering principles & logic.

    •       Basic-to-mid level circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout experience a plus.

    •       Strong preference given to students who have completed at least 2 years of college coursework.

    Nice-to-Haves

    •       Basic-to-mid level understanding of circuit simulation software like pSim.

    •       Beginner to intermediate python or matlab coding experience a plus.

    •       Experience using labview for data collection and testing.

    •       Basic C/C++ coding experience a plus.

    •       Experience owning entire PCB schematic designs or layout designs and seeing them through validation testing.

    •       Experience working on projects in renewable, EV, Automotive, high power/voltage, or industrial spaces a plus.

    •       1-3 Power electronic or embedded circuitry courses completed.
