Sparrow Company is looking for an Electrical Instrument Maintenance Journeyman for one of our clients a major US cement manufacturer.
The plant is part of the Lehigh Valley “Cement Rock” formation that extends from the Delaware River to Evansville, PA. This plant produces 1.4 million tons of limestone each year and produces six types of cement. State of the art improvements, along with innovative PC/PLC control concepts form the core of this plant.
Responsibilities
The candidate must be familiar with the following: cement process flow and equipment functions; electrical, mechanical and plant safety rules; computer hardware; safe rigging techniques; plant power distribution and AC/DC circuits; different lubrication requirements of plant equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for using the storeroom system to locate spare parts and inputting work order requests into the CMMS. The person hired for this position must be able to operate plant mobile equipment and have the ability to troubleshoot motors, transformers, electrical drives, starters, breakers, disconnects, electrical interlocks, temperature and pressure transmitters and similar devices. The incumbent must also be able to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electronic circuits, use PLC and PC programs, read blueprints and schematic designs, as well as select and use proper tools and measuring devices.
