Sparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant for one of our clients in the El Paso area. As the Senior Staff Accountant you will be responsible for day-to-day financial accounting objectives including management of month-end close process, accounts payable operations, accounts receivable inventory control, fixed assets, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Primarily responsible for bank and mortgage reconciliations, monthly and end-of-year closing.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
• Report analysis and findings to management team.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+years of general accounting experience, knowledge of US GAAP and solid experience with:
• Banking/Mortgage reconciliations
• Monthly/End-of-Year Closing
• Budget preparation
• Proficiency with:
• QuickBooks accounting software, and advanced skillset of MS Excel strongly preferred
• Yardi property management software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail and deadline oriented.
