Spartan Infrastructure, Inc. (Spartan) was formed to provide electric utilities, renewable developers, and transmission owners a highly qualified transmission partner capable of delivering the most challenging and complex Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission projects safely and on schedule. Over the past thirty years, the founding team of Spartan has successfully completed several EHV transmission projects that are critical to the U.S. power grid. Our capabilities include specialized construction methodologies such as helicopter-aided construction, limited access, disturbance minimization, and sensitive terrain construction. The Spartan team has worked with the largest and most sophisticated utility and government agency customers and has consistently completed complex transmission projects safely and on schedule.
The Transmission Project Scheduler provides an essential function to Spartan’s Project Management Office (PMO). The Scheduler works closely with the Project Managers, construction leads, and customers to develop detailed schedules for transmission projects in scheduling software (e.g., P6, MS Project, etc.). Throughout the project lifecycle, the Scheduler updates project schedules, reports on Critical Path, Earned Value, and project float, and creates ad hoc reports for internal analysis and customer deliverables. This is a highly analytical role requiring both technical scheduling and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a cross functional team with engineers, construction leads, project managers, and work managers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE PROJECT SCHEDULE (P6) INCLUDE:
· Develop detailed project schedules for multi-year transmission projects incorporating engineering, procurement, and construction work activities
· Maintain the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle, providing weekly and monthly updates for internal and external customers
· Perform detailed schedule analysis to determine project Critical Path and Earned Value
· Analyze what-if scenarios to assess impacts on Critical Path, Float, and project Milestones
· Develop reports on project status work closely with Project Manager and customers to communicate project status
· Perform ad hoc analyses and reports as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
· A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
· Advanced knowledge of and experience with scheduling software including Primavera P6
· Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrable experience in building and maintaining detailed, resource loaded project schedules
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work in a highly collaborative cross functional team
· A willingness to travel, learn, and be a part of a highly qualified team dedicated to the safe and quality construction of HV and EHV transmission infrastructure
