    Spathe Systems is a rapidly growing, 8(a) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC. Spathe is currently searching for a CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER to join our USSOCOM DevSecOps team.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Cloud Infrastructure Manager will manage a team of Infrastructure Engineers with focus on site reliability, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration management.  The expectation of this role also includes advising leadership on key operational metrics, risks, and options for service improvements. Manager will have experience in the design, build and operations of Cloud Service Providers (specifically AWS) and the various IaaS and PaaS offerings provided.

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead a team of Engineers overseeing a range of disciplines including, Compute, Network and Storage Platform configuration, site reliability engineering automation, DevOps, and configuration management.

    • Manage assigned agile IT Infrastructure team and projects, ensuring requirements are well defined, alternatives are explored, success criteria are met, and build effective working relationships with Product, Architecture, Engineering and Security functions.

    • Work with your team, SCRUM Masters / Project Managers and external partners to build, prioritize and execute against our IT Engineering roadmap.

    • Represent your section in cross-functional and leadership meetings.

    • Design and execute a Cloud platform vision and strategy that aligns with government customer’s technical requirements; develop and manage architectural and engineering efforts to support implementation.

    • Develop and manage Cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network and data management and security.

    • Provide cost and resource estimates for infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.

    • Promote technical innovation through the use of cloud technologies and influence technical roadmaps to support government customer; make decisions on complex issues regarding technical approach for cloud related topics.

    • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and teams representing the organization, secure consensus and support for the roadmap.

    • Lead integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully execute a complete cloud solution for customer.

    • Define and create the building blocks of solutions in AWS in a secure and efficient manner that can be utilized by mission owners and application development teams.

    • Work closely with government customers and development team to build and configure a high performing, scalable, cloud-based infrastructure.

    • Manage end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in a cloud environment.

    • Gather data to understand the health of the environment and enable data driven decisions; Monitor, measure, and maintain system reliability using monitoring standards for assigned projects.

    • Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and successfully navigate problem and solution landscapes; balance agile and waterfall planning to enable iterative progress against long term goals

    • Support organizational change, balance customer’s requirements with IT initiatives, provide technical leadership and manage execution on critical initiatives.

    • Create and uphold engineering processes as we scale and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the governance platform and tooling.

    • Keep up to date with industry best practices and technological advancements to bring ideas that will help advance the customer’s goals

    • Developing processes that produce artifacts to support security and compliance requirements

    • Have a passion for agile and DevOps methodologies.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in a strong technical IT environment.

    • 5+ years of hands-on IT Infrastructure experience in storage, network, compute, server and cloud technology

    • 2+ years of experience leading a technical team, with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and workforce development

    • Experienced in providing DevOps implementation using Ansible, Jenkins, and Gitlab including Infrastructure as Code and Automation for DevSecOps

    • Deep understanding of traditional infrastructure domains: networking, DNS, Active Directory, storage, data protection, cyber infrastructure, compute (Linux, Windows), databases, system management, monitoring.

    • Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools and configuration and change management experience with direct knowledge of CM processes

    • Working knowledge of the software build process.

    • Strong “security first” mindset.

    • Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach.

    • Manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.

    • Excellent technical design and documentation skills

    • Exposure/working understanding of container technology such as Docker, OpenShift, ECS, EKS

    • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect or more advanced cloud certification (preferred)

    • Red Hat Certifications (preferred)
