    Job Description

    Our client is seeking a Windows Desktop Engineer in Woodland Park, NJ (07424) for a direct hire position with 5+ YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN WINDOWS DESKTOP ENGINEERING. EXPERIENCE WITH SCCM, POWERSHELL AND ACTIVE DIRECTORY IS REQUIRED. Compensation depends on experience.

    The Windows Desktop Engineer provides technical and troubleshooting support related to computer hardware/software and supports the delivery of the workstation model to end users with an emphasis on the Windows 10 and MS Office. This position will focus on key areas such as desktop engineering, client support, monitoring and servicing of the desktop environment. The goal is to drive efficiency through automating processes while making the desktop environment as optimal as possible for the end user experience.

    • Working with SCCM, create software packaging and scripts with PowerShell
    • Deploy enterprise wide software updates, conduct patching and inventory
    • Perform operations within MS Active Directory including GPO management and object management
    • Write technical and operational documentation and contribute to knowledge base and support procedures
    • Help lead the deployment efforts, support project managers and conduct 3rd Level Support
    • Engineer a standard Windows 10 desktop build
    • Engineer post installation configuration and software installations such as Office 365, custom applications and print devices

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years’ experience in Windows desktop engineering
    • Experienced architecting Windows 7/10 deployments and MS Office deployments
    • Experience with SCCM
    • Strong understanding of Active Directory role group design and Group Policy management
    • Strong understanding of Windows profile management, folder redirection, offline files
    • Good understanding of supporting technologies including but not limited to TCPIP networking and Windows applications
    • Experience with PC and Laptop hardware and devices in a corporate environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Comfortable working with all levels of seniority
