    We are seeking a Controller for a direct hire employee role with our client in midtown, New York City. Compensation depends upon experience level. 10 years or more professional experience in Accounting for banks.

    Job Purpose: Responsible for the integrity of the financial records, production of all management, financial and regulatory reports, budgeting & planning.

    Responsibilities: • Ensure the accuracy of the financial records of the Bank. • Manage the preparation of all financial, management and regulatory reporting. • Liaison with regulators including OCC, FRB, Treasury, Central Banks and internal and external auditors. • Support month-end and year-end close • Member of various committees, including Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), Allocation of Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL) and Executive Committee. • Streamline processes, automate reports and maintain procedures and policies. • Prepare Tax Returns; maintain relationships with tax accountants and tax authorities. • Prepare financial analysis. • Prepare annual budget • Prepare presentations to Senior Management • Maintain knowledge of accounting practices. • Manage three employees, including appropriate work allocation, education and development; and periodic staff appraisals.

    Qualification and Experience: • 10 years or more professional experience in Accounting for banks. • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.

    Skills Essential: • Problem analysis and decision making. • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. • Ability to develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized areas.
