SPEC MIX®, A QUIKRETE® owned Company, the North American leader in preblended and packaged cement and concrete products, is currently seeking a highly motivated energetic professional to fill an outside MASONRY SALES REPRESENTATIVE IN THE CHICAGO AND NORTHERN ILLINOIS market area.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
This opportunity is within the bulk products division and the primary function of the Masonry Sales Representative is to sell pre-blended Spec Mix® products: mortar, grout and related cementitious goods to Masonry contractors, General Contractors and Distributors. Day to day duties include making sales calls and presentations to masonry contractors as well as to distributors. The ideal candidate must be passionate about the work and have the ability to build close relationships with key decision makers and influencers in the industry. This position will also promote mortar products to architects, spec writers and owners with the goal of brand name products being written into jobsite specifications. The Masonry Sales Representative should attend and support local trade organizations. This support includes attending regular meetings, making product presentations and contributing to the advancement of all Spec Mix® and QUIKRETE® branded products through local events that the organization may support. The Masonry Salesperson must work closely with the operations department (plant) and the Technical Center to make sure that the product being used in the field is a design that meets the customer’s workability and performance expectations.
The Masonry Sales Representative will report to the Bulk Sales Manager and have the ability to be a self-starter and work independently to achieve performance goals. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the construction process and some masonry terms including, but not limited to, knowledge of job specifications, CSA and ASTM specifications as they relate to masonry related construction divisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from accredited University.
3 - 5 years’ sales/marketing experience.
Reside in the territory listed above.
Must have valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Skilled in making presentations to prospective customers and decision makers.
Ability to influence decision makers in conveying the benefits of pre-blended mortars over traditional (field mix) methods.
Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to lift or carry 80 lbs. /36 kg.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Sales or related industry experience in the construction materials industry.
-Specific Concrete/Masonry/Stucco industry experience a plus.
-Distributor sales experience.
-Mechanical aptitude as it relates to helping customers troubleshoot silo delivery equipment.
Some overnight travel is required.
