TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts throughout Texas to strengthen special education programs and connect students with the services they need. We are currently seeking Special Education Coordinators for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area.
These positions are well suited for experienced special education professionals who are committed to program quality, regulatory compliance, and collaboration that leads to stronger student outcomes.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Special Education Coordinator, you will help organize and oversee special education services while providing guidance to campus teams, school leadership, families, and other stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Partner with teachers, administrators, related-service providers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate student support
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for ARD and IEP procedures, timelines, and documentation requirements
Help ensure special education practices comply with applicable federal and state regulations
Coordinate the delivery and implementation of special education programs across assigned campuses
Use district platforms and special education systems to review student records, services, progress, and required documentation
Monitor compliance activities and promote consistent, effective practices among campus teams
Provide guidance to staff and families regarding special education services, procedures, and available supports
Identify program needs and collaborate with leadership to address concerns and improve service delivery
Maintain current knowledge of special education laws, district policies, and procedural requirements
Complete and review records accurately, promptly, and in accordance with established compliance standards
Qualifications for This Position
Current Texas Special Education teaching certification
At least three years of experience as a Special Education Coordinator or in a comparable special education leadership role
Strong knowledge of special education programming, compliance procedures, and documentation systems
Thorough understanding of ARD and IEP processes and school-based special education services
Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to collaborate successfully with educators, administrators, therapists, families, and other stakeholders
Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
Reliable transportation when travel between multiple campuses is required
