JOB TITLE: Special Education Facilitator for Warrior Center
JOB GOAL: To serve as the Facilitator of the program. To work under the direction of the principal, with staff, students, and community to ensure a high-quality educational program and to formulate and accomplish the school mission. To assist the principal in providing for an environment of high expectations for staff and students.
REPORTS TO: Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three years teaching experience
- Special Education certification/experience required
SUPERVISES: Faculty, staff, and students at the Warrior Center as designated by the principal.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assists in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program.
- Assists in interpreting and implementing federal and state laws and state and local board policies.
- Assists the principal in personnel functions as needed.
- Assists the principal in securing, maintaining, and managing material resources.
- Assists the principal in assuming responsibility for scheduling.
- Assists in ensuring that students receive appropriate placement and services.
- Plans and accomplishes personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Assists in providing professional growth opportunities for staff.
- Assists in communicating and clarifying the school's mission to students, staff, and community.
- Assists in providing a safe, orderly environment that facilitates teaching and learning.
- Assists in providing a climate of high expectations for staff and students.
- Assists in observing, supporting and coaching teachers and staff.
Job responsibilities specific to the Warrior Center/Special Education:
- Assists in all disciplinary actions, behavior management, and restraints in the Warrior Center building.
- Trained in Managing Crisis Safely Techniques. Trains Warrior Center staff and others as designated by the principal or district.
- Serves as the LEA for all IEP, re-evaluation meetings, manifestation meetings, determination meetings, and parent/teacher conferences for students in the Warrior Center.
- Collaborates with the elementary homeschool principals to provide academic programs that correspond to the typical classroom.
- Collaborates with the Special Education Coordinator regarding needs, timelines, behavior intervention plans, and other issues that arise.
- Works with the District Behavior Interventionist for planning, scheduling, creating behavior plans, and PLCs for Warrior Center staff and students.
- Assists with entering data in PowerSchool including discipline incidents.
- Assists with working with students who need time out of their classroom.
- Assists Special Ed Preschool Itinerants with meetings for IEPs, referrals, and eligibility.
- Assists with setting up all special education transportation requests for the district throughout the summer to prepare for upcoming school year.
- Coordinates ESY services the district.
- Collaborate with the District Testing Coordinator to ensure appropriate training and state testing meets the requirements that are in place.
SALARY : Appropriate placement on salary schedule - 12 month Teacher Schedule
