Position Overview
TX-STAR Speech-Language Services is seeking a Recruiting Specialist to support the growth of our network of education professionals. This role will focus on identifying, engaging, screening, and maintaining relationships with qualified candidates across multiple disciplines, including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs), Special Education Teachers, and other related service providers.
The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-focused, and comfortable balancing high-volume candidate communication with proactive recruiting efforts. This position plays a critical role in ensuring TX-STAR maintains a strong pipeline of qualified professionals ready to support our school district partners.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Screening & Qualification
- Review and respond to inbound candidate applications, referrals, and recruiting leads.
- Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications, availability, experience, credentials, location, compensation expectations, and overall fit.
- Verify candidate information including education, certifications, licensure status, and relevant experience.
- Maintain accurate candidate notes and disposition information within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Identify top candidates and move qualified individuals through the recruiting process efficiently.
Candidate Database Management
- Maintain and continuously improve TX-STAR’s candidate database and ATS records.
- Ensure candidate profiles are complete, accurate, and properly categorized by discipline, location, availability, and qualifications.
- Regularly update candidate statuses and pipeline stages.
- Identify opportunities to re-engage previous applicants, contractors, and candidates who may be a fit for future opportunities.
- Support reporting and analytics related to recruiting activity, pipeline health, and candidate conversion.
Passive Candidate Outreach
- Proactively source qualified professionals through online platforms, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
- Develop outreach campaigns to attract candidates in high-demand markets.
- Engage passive candidates and build relationships with professionals who may not be actively seeking opportunities.
- Market TX-STAR’s opportunities, culture, benefits, and value proposition to prospective candidates.
- Follow up consistently with candidates to maintain engagement throughout the recruiting process.
Recruiting Support & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with the recruiting and operations teams to understand staffing needs and priority openings.
- Support recruiting campaigns for hard-to-fill positions and geographic markets.
- Provide feedback on candidate trends, market conditions, and recruiting challenges.
- Assist with improving recruiting processes, workflows, and candidate experience.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and responsiveness with all candidates.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to conduct professional phone conversations and candidate interviews.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM systems, or recruiting platforms preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting in education, healthcare, therapy, or professional services.
- Experience with sourcing passive candidates through LinkedIn or other recruiting platforms.
- Familiarity with credentialing, licensure, or certification-based recruiting.
- Experience working with high-volume candidate pipelines.
Success Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Number of qualified candidates screened and added to the pipeline.
- Candidate response and engagement rates.
- Database accuracy and completeness.
- Number of qualified candidates advanced through the recruiting process.
- Growth of TX-STAR’s active candidate network.
