Description:

Special education teachers are responsible for educating students with

diverse learning needs, often requiring individualized plans and

support. Their duties include developing and implementing IEPs,

collaborating with other teachers and support staff, assessing student

progress, and providing differentiated instruction to meet individual

student needs

One (1) year of prior teaching experience in a school setting supporting

students with an IEP.

One (1) year of case management experience

Mild/Moderate:

Education Specialist Mild/Mod, AAAS

Education Specialist Mild to Moderate Support Needs

Learning Handicap, AAAS and Resource Specialist Certificate for Push-

in/Pull out assignments

Mod/Severe:

Education Specialist Moderate/Severe

Education Specialist Extensive Support Needs

Severely Handicap and Resource Specialist Certificate for Push-in/Pull
