    Learning Support & Special Education Teacher Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis

    Position Summary

    Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis (HHAI), an independent K–8 Jewish day school, seeks a compassionate, collaborative Learning Support & Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

    This educator will provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with teachers and families, oversee special education compliance, and help create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

    Key Responsibilities

    Student Support

    Provide individual and small-group specialized instruction.

    Develop and implement individualized learning plans.

    Collaborate with teachers to provide accommodations and instructional modifications.

    Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.

    Support academic, behavioral, executive functioning, and social-emotional growth.

    Collaboration

    Partner with teachers to support diverse learners.

    Participate in student support meetings and instructional planning.

    Coordinate with outside specialists and service providers.

    Family Communication

    Build strong relationships with families.

    Communicate student progress and participate in conferences and support meetings.

    Compliance

    Maintain required documentation.

    Support compliance with state and federal special education requirements.

    Assist with evaluations, eligibility meetings, and implementation of IEPs, ISPs, and Section 504 Plans.

    School Community

    Foster an inclusive school culture.

    Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

    Support HHAI's mission of educating the whole child.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (master's preferred).

    Valid Indiana Special Education license or eligibility for licensure.

    Experience supporting elementary and/or middle school students.

    Knowledge of learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, executive functioning, behavioral interventions, and evidence-based reading and math instruction.

    Experience developing and implementing IEPs and Section 504 accommodations.

    Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with one or more of the following:

    English as a New Language (ENL) or Indiana ENL license

    Independent or faith-based schools

    MTSS, UDL, PBIS, restorative practices

    Structured literacy interventions

    Executive functioning coaching

    Inclusive classroom models
