TX-STAR Speech Language Services works with school districts throughout Texas to provide students with individualized educational services and specialized support. We are currently seeking Certified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in the Austin area.
These positions are well suited for educators who value inclusive classrooms and want to help students achieve meaningful academic, social, and personal growth through differentiated instruction.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Special Education Teacher, you will design and deliver individualized instruction while partnering with campus teams and families to address students’ unique learning needs.
In this role, you will:
Develop, implement, and oversee Individualized Education Programs in accordance with student needs and required timelines
Provide specialized instruction based on each student’s learning profile, academic level, and educational goals
Modify curriculum, assignments, classroom materials, and teaching methods to improve accessibility and participation
Use assessment results, classroom observations, and progress data to guide instructional decisions
Adjust lessons and interventions based on student performance and changing needs
Promote students’ academic achievement, social development, emotional well-being, and independence
Coordinate with general education teachers, related-service providers, campus staff, and families
Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of measurable goals
Maintain complete and accurate progress reports, service records, and required special education documentation
Incorporate assistive technology, visual supports, and other instructional resources when appropriate
Qualifications for This Position
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Current and valid Texas Special Education teaching certification
Strong knowledge of IEP procedures, differentiated instruction, and school-based special education services
Ability to collaborate successfully with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members
Effective classroom leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills
Master’s degree is preferred
Previous experience in a school-based special education setting is a plus
