    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    As a Swim Abilities Teacher, you'll bring our specialized Swim Abilities curriculum to life, using the Swim Abilities Methodology to teach children with special needs--such as autism, anxiety, motor challenges, sensory issues, or developmental delays--how to feel safe, confident, and empowered in the water. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to transform lives through personalized, therapy-focused swim instruction.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Prioritize safety, creating a secure and nurturing environment for every student

    Deliver private swim lessons with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm, adapting to each child's unique needs

    Follow tailored lesson plans to help students progress toward group lessons when appropriate, celebrating milestones along the way

    Engage with students using sensory, visual, and physical stimulation techniques to foster comfort and confidence

    Collaborate with monitors and team members to refine your teaching approach and grow your expertise

    Maintain consistent attendance to provide stability and build trust with students and families

    Embody the Barron Mission, making a lasting impact through compassionate, individualized instruction

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Swim 30 feet with ease to lead by example

    Lift and transition students, from young children to high school age, weighing 50 lbs or more, to assist as needed

    Rely on sharp vision and hearing to keep every swimmer safe

    Thrive during 4+ hours in a chlorinated pool

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Passion for walking with children with special needs and a commitment to their growth

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and families

    Previous experience in swim instruction, special education, or therapy-based roles is a plus

    Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse needs and learning styles
